North Dakota Driver License Laws

North Dakota driver license laws help drivers understand their responsibilities while driving. These laws also help drivers understand the procedure for applying for a license in the state of North Dakota.

A new law was passed as of December 2002 in North Dakota. According to North Dakota driver license laws those who are the holder of a North Dakota Level Two driver’s license are limited to one passenger. This is true when the driver is under 21, and when the passenger is not an immediate family member and/or memebor of the same household.

According to North Dakota Driver license laws the Level Two license  is issued to those who are at least 16 years of age. However, they are generally less than 18 years of age. While holding this license all passengers must be wearing a seat belt or must be placed in a child safety seat.

The supervising driver must sit in the right front seat besides the driver. The supervising driver must be a parent grandparent, guardian, or a licensed responsible person approved by the parent or guardian. The licensed supervisor must hold a valid  for at least five years.

Those who hold the Level Two license (a.k.a. Provisional License) are not allowed to driver past 9 p.m. or before 5 a.m. They are allowed to driver unsupervised the rest of the time, or when driving just two or from work.

North Dakota driver license laws require those who hold the Level Three license to  keep it for at least 6 months and have no convictions of moving violations. They must also have not violated the regulation to wear seat belts within this time. The level Three license is the Full Provisional License.

During the use of a Provisional License there are other requirements that a licensed driver must meet. Then, after the driver turns 18 they will receive a full license if they have a good driving record.

Additional requirements are made within North Dakota Driver License laws. These requirements are posted in view for anyone to see.
